Nippon Sanso Corporation (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Kenji Nagata; hereinafter “NSC”) hereby announces that it has decided to construct a new air separation unit at its group company, Shunan Sanso Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shunan City, Yamaguchi; hereinafter “Shunan Sanso”). Completion is scheduled for June 2029. An air separation unit is critical equipment that separates air to produce oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and to ensure a stable supply of industrial gases supporting a wide range of industries, such as steel, chemicals, and semiconductors.
This new unit is being constructed as part of the Nippon Sanso Group’s initiatives to strengthen its domestic industrial gas supply system.
1. Background
For many years, Shunan Sanso has played a key role in supplying industrial gases to companies in the Shunan Industrial Complex, a hub for industries such as steel, petrochemicals, inorganic chemicals, and cement. In recent years, robust capital investment in the Shunan Industrial Complex has led to an upward trend in demand for industrial gases. Accordingly, with the aim of maintaining a stable supply system for these companies, NSC will construct a new air separation unit at Shunan Sanso, thereby contributing to the maintenance and development of the Shunan region’s industrial infrastructure.
